Next week’s release

We’ll be releasing a new version of blip next week. Here’s some of what you have to look forward to:

• A closed beta of h.264 as our default codec. Enhanced Definition and High Definition versions will be created for a select group of shows, and those versions will be played back in the Show Player by default.
• A completely new homepage and Dashboard tour.
• A new advertiser information page.
• Turnpike. This is a new system that we’ve designed to help smooth the distribution approval process. The content team will use Turnpike to review and approve applications for distribution to YouTube, TiVo, et cetera.
• A completely new RSS feed and TV distribution system. This new system will give you much finer grained control over where your show is distributed, and also make it easier for us to add new syndication and TV partners in the future.
• As always, lots of bug fixes.
