Lookwell was a television pilot written and produced by Conan O’Brien and Robert Smigel. It starred Adam West as a washed-up TV action hero—who at the peak of his career was ceremonially deputized by local law enforcement—who falsely believes he can solve crimes in real life.

It was broadcast in 1991 but was not picked up. A version of the pilot is floating around the web, but it’s not quite the same episode that originally aired. It’s not clear who made the changes or if the original still exists. 

Fortunately, this was not the last we heard of O’Brien, Simgel or West.
