How our deal with the Collective changes everything, and nothing

Yesterday we announced a strategic partnership with Collective Digital Studios to distribute hit shows like Fred, iJustine, FreddieW and The Annoying Orange. We’re incredibly excited about the deal and what it means for blip and the original web series industry as a whole. But some of our long-standing producers have wondered what this new relationship means for them.

The short answer is that nothing will change. We remain as committed as ever to supporting all of the great series that have made blip their home over the last few years. The services and support we offer to everyone are only getting bigger and better. We’re growing our content team, our technology team, our sales team and our business development team to provide the best possible services to the producers of original web series regardless of who they are or where they come from.

The reality is that this deal will not change our relationship with any of the producers we work with… except in that a rising tide lifts all boats. The addition of these new series will help our sales team sell larger packages, it’ll help our business development team negotiate better distribution deals, and it’ll help us scale our content team. By adding scale and well known Internet brands blip will be better positioned than ever to provide industry leading service and support to all web series.

That’s the real beauty of this deal. We’re all getting together under one roof, building scale, and taking that scale — and quality — to viewers, distributors, advertisers and other vendors. And everyone benefits as a result.
