As I left the blip.tv HQ this evening, I was surprised to find several of these just outside our offices on the corner of Lafayette and Broome.  They seemed cute at first, but the ray-runs were quite scary to see on the streets of New York.  Luckily, they quickly crossed the street heading west on Broome (away from me).  I was able to snap this photo of one of the robots with my phone.
I can only assume this is linked to Bre Pettis’s launch of MakerBot Industries.  His robots seem to have been used to make robots with ray-guns that can self-replicate.
This can only result in one thing - Grey Goo Theory.  Please Bre, stop the robots before it’s too late!
